The main task of SS No. 2 is the production and transportation of sinter to ensure the operation of blast furnace No. 9.
BC “Olvia” began work in the sinter shop No. 2 with the reconstruction of sinter machine No. 5. The work was carried out according to the working documentation developed by the design institute of SE “State Design Institute“ Krivbassproekt ”.
The reconstruction of sintering machine No. 5 was carried out under the conditions of the existing production, the results of hot tests confirmed the high quality of the work done and the professionalism of our specialists.
In total, during the reconstruction of sinter machine No. 5 was:
- Mounted 2158 tons of equipment
- 4506 m3 of concrete laid
- Mounted 2756 tons of metal
- Mounted 526 tons of non-standard metal structures

Thanks to technically competent expert support provided by the employees of LLC BC “Olvia” during the reconstruction of sintering shop No. 5, “ArcelorMittal” decided to conclude an additional contract with the company and transfer design work for sintering machines No. 1-4, together with general contracting these objects.
Line cooler reconstruction
To increase the efficiency of design and civil works, we used the BIM design method, which allowed us to begin the phased implementation of reconstruction of sinter machines No. 1-4, to reduce the start time of construction work by 3 months.

This project is one of the largest environmental upgrades at the plant. Despite the delay in the development of project documentation for more than 5 months, all designs were made and assembled in the required time frames. The launch of the production line was carried out in accordance with the approved schedule with access to design capacity and a reduction in atmospheric emissions in accordance with environmental standards.
After the reconstruction of the 5th sinter machine, the largest contract for the last 20 years of the enterprise for the reconstruction of 4,1 sinter machines with a range of design work was signed by the customer.
